Retreat

Last weekend I went to a wonderful quilting retreat with friends. It was at the hostesses sister's cottage (really a lovely house)in northern Michigan. The house is on a small lake with lots of woods surrounding the house. The air was crisp and my friend, Linda, and I took a walk and came upon a group of turkeys. It looked like a group of females with this years offspring. Eventually these turkeys wandered on to the house too. The plan was everyone would work on their own projects. I got my machine set up and ready to go when I realized the power cord was still sitting at home. Oh, no!! Good thing I brought some busy work...Dresden plates needing to be basted and little triangles to be cut out for another project. Still lots of laughter and talking was had by all. Now that I am home I started using the little triangles (in navy) to finish some blocks from a previous block exchange. The squares of squares were what I asked for.

I am currently participating in a scrap exchange arranged by Victoria My goal is to use all the scraps. I received so many scraps that I may have to use some on the back to prevent a quilt the size of China. It has been fun doing free piecing and just going with the flow. I am quickly becoming a convert to this method.
