Staccato

Finally settled on a name for this quilt. It is coming along. I appreciated all the comments about the purple underlining the blocks. As you see I incorporated it in the quilt. Of course, the strips did not come out straight. Will add some purple to those edges before sewing. Now I need my extra purple to arrive to go any further.

Victoria at 15 minutes of play challenged us to come up with a block using an 8 inch square of made fabric. This is what I came up with. I guess I know what my next project will be. Have a couple of ideas, but no plan as yet.

I now have 4 tile blocks. I thought I was done with them, but once I saw the picture I think I will keep going. It is just so much fun to cut and sew. I was a really applique nut, but arthritis in my right thumb kept me from doing it. This seem to be the perfect solution. They each have a recognizable object in them...a heart, tree, pears and bird. CAn you see them? That is part of the fun too.

  1. Wow! Lots of creative juices flowing here! LOVE the addition of orange and green to the purple sashing. And those tile blocks are pretty and fun, like "Where's Waldo?"
