I am quilting Double Cross with big stitch in red. I love the big concentric circles. They soften the look of the top and add a little extra dimension. Besides it moves along quickly and I can get it done and bound. Always a good thing.
Considering applique in the corners. Wonky baskets with improv fillings. Or leaving plain and filling with quilting. Since nature abhors a vacuum, I suspect I will go with some sort of applique.
Have gotten this far with the Cosmos blocks. Most have centers appliqued on, but how many more do I want? Add a border? Finishing the edges? Still a fun carry along hand project.
It may have to take the back seat to the tile block quilt if I applique on the tile quilt.

I was going to pick my favorite of the four...but I can't! I love them all!

ReplyDeleteWow! Retirement looks good on you. I love all of these projects. you've inspired me to do more quilting, and to try those concentric circles. The stripes idea on the tile blocks is brilliant.
