buzzing along

Yesterday blogger just didn't want to cooperate. If you don't blog frequently enough you are surprised when they have changed the way the pictures upload. Just when I figured out the previous way. Good for the little gray cells. I have been working mostly on quilting Staccato and Double Cross. I have only one block and some odds and ends left to machine quilt. I have gotten the binding on and stitched down. As I was quilting it I realized it was actually quite a good size quilt. I keep thinking I will make smaller quilts, but my design wall just begs to be filled up and I just keep obliging.

I am quilting Double Cross with big stitch in red. I love the big concentric circles. They soften the look of the top and add a little extra dimension. Besides it moves along quickly and I can get it done and bound. Always a good thing.

Worked on a set for the tile blocks. The dark is actually gray and is not as sharp as using black.

Considering applique in the corners. Wonky baskets with improv fillings. Or leaving plain and filling with quilting. Since nature abhors a vacuum, I suspect I will go with some sort of applique.

Have gotten this far with the Cosmos blocks. Most have centers appliqued on, but how many more do I want? Add a border? Finishing the edges? Still a fun carry along hand project.
It may have to take the back seat to the tile block quilt if I applique on the tile quilt.

  4. Wow! Retirement looks good on you. I love all of these projects. you've inspired me to do more quilting, and to try those concentric circles. The stripes idea on the tile blocks is brilliant.
